There are four topics in Healthy Hearts that promote cardiovascular
health:

- Movin’ & Groovin’ – Physical Activity
- Eatin’ Right – Nutrition
- Bye Bye Tobacco – Tobacco
Healthy Hearts has been designed for 5th and 6th grade
teachers to implement in their classes with the following goals in mind:
- Requires minimal computer experience for teachers. To use Healthy Hearts,
you should:
- Use Email
- Use the Internet
- Have access to a computer that is connected to the Internet
- Have a printer
- Have an up-to-date Web browser (Internet Explorer 6.0 or Netscape 4.7)
- Provides interdisciplinary instruction - Healthy Hearts integrates content standards
in:
- Math
- Language Arts (Writing, Reading)
- Technology
- Health
- Physical Education
- Requires minimal amount of teacher time
- Primarily self-contained instruction for kids
- Flexible scheduling – Use as often as schedule permits

- Requires no teacher training/health teaching experience
