20 Ways to Better Enjoy Physical Activity |
- Choose physical activities that you like and enjoy participating in.
- Choose a variety of activities.
- Find a convenient time to be physically active, and stick with it. Put it in your daily schedule on a
regular basis.
- Add music – it will make it more enjoyable.
- Surround yourself with supportive people, and share your progress with them.
- Find a partner or group that has the same interests as you, and plan physical
activity together.
- Plan family physical activity – such as hiking trips, biking outings.
- Keep a log (record) of your physical activity.
- Set your own personal goals, and reward yourself when you reach them.
- Use your local recreation or fitness center to seek opportunities to learn new
physical activities and sports.
- Choose activities where you can become successful.
- Practice!!
- Learn a new physical activity.
- Don’t overdo it. Start out slow and work your way up.
- When purchasing new “toys” for your children, consider activity equipment such
as skates, Frisbees, balls, tennis rackets, etc, and get one for yourself,
too.
- Participate in a run or walk in your community that benefits a good cause. Set your goals and work to
achieve them at least 6 weeks before the event.
- Be a good role model of physical activity for your children – you will feel
good about it!
- Get a pedometer! It’s motivating to monitor your step count each day.
- Know the health benefits of physical activity, and remind yourself often.
- Smile, and be happy J !
