20 Ways to Cut 100 Calories or More a Day |
- Eat only one cookie instead of two or three.
- Eat frozen yogurt or lowfat ice cream rather than regular ice cream.
- Choose fruit as a side order.
- Drink fat free or 1% milk rather than 2% or whole milk.
- Pat your pizza with a napkin before eating it. It will absorb 9-14% of a slice's total fat.
- Pour reasonable portions of food into a bowl or onto a plate - do not eat out
of the box.
- Use mustard or low-fat mayonnaise on a sandwich instead of regular mayonnaise
or salad dressing.
- Eat baked potato chips rather than regular potato chips and you will save half
the calories.
- Use tuna packed in water rather than packed in oil.
- Choose canned fruits in natural juices rather than in heavy syrup.
- Always order salad dressing (preferably lowfat) on the side rather than on the
salad – and only put a small portion on your salad.
- Use a small bowl for your cereal rather than a large one.
- If you have dessert, split it with someone else.
- Have one less soft drink a day.
- Eat the “snack size” candy bar rather than a regular one when you have an urge
for chocolate.
- On your next serving of fries, leave at least 10 fries uneaten.
- Choose water flavored with lemon or lime rather than a fruit drink.
- Choose a small 2 ounce bagel for breakfast rather than the larger bagels.
- Choose lowfat sour cream and cream cheese instead of regular.
- Leave the cheese off of sandwiches and burgers.
